Hands down Liege Waffles are my all time favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner/dessert food items. I can easily eat one every single day. They are sooooooo good!!
Makes 6 Waffles
Ingredients
2 gr active dry yeast
10 gr sugar
60 ml warm milk, around 40°C/100°F.
1 large egg
75 gr unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
130 gr ap flour
Pinch of salt
45 gr pearl sugar
Instructions
1. Place the yeast, sugar, and milk in a bowl. Mix to combine and leave for 10 minutes.
2. Add the egg, melted butter, vanilla to the yeast mixture and whisk to combine.
3. Shift flour and pinch of salt and mix until it becomes a soft dough. Cover the bowl and leave it to proof in a warm spot for 45 minutes.
4. Once proofed, gently mix the pearl sugar.
5. Preheat waffle maker according to instructions.
6. Place 1/3 cup dough and cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy, around 3 minutes. Allow waffles to cool for 2-3 minutes and enjoy!
