Happy Easter everybody! I hope your day is filled with chocolate and with loved ones, even if it is still through the Zoom. Creme eggs are great and all but have you ever tried them with brownies? Here are my super easy, quick, and extremely delicious Creme Egg-filled brownies.
Makes 15x15cm / 6x6inch
Ingredients
3 Creme Eggs
113 gr unsalted butter
50 gr cocoa powder
2 large eggs
80 gr light brown sugar
80 gr sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
1/2 tsp salt
90 gr flour
80 gr semi-sweet chocolate chunks
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Prepare a square 15x15 cm/6x6 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Carefully cut the creme eggs in half, and store them in the freezer.
3. Place the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl, and melt it with 30 seconds interval bursts. Add cocoa powder into the fully melted butter, and whisk to combine. Set aside.
4. In a large bowl, beat eggs, light brown sugar, and sugar for 30 seconds. Add vanilla, salt, and butter/cocoa powder mixture, and combine. Shift the flour, mix to combine. Add 50 gr of semi-sweet chocolate chunks, combine. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Top with remaining 30 gr chocolate. Bake for 15-18 minutes.
5. Take the brownie out of the oven and gently push halved Creme eggs into the brownie. Bake for additional 10 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes, cut into squares and enjoy!
